The Tide
The sound of a weakness is loud;
cracking, breaking, and bearing down.
You don't notice one crack, one scratch
until it all comes tumbling down.
Indian summer lasts forever.
Burnt down, turned off, something is lost
Trembling, shaking, and wearing out.
You don't notice the path it takes, only where the ruins lay.
Sad Farewell, the time provides
Once again, the tide will rise
Will rise despite the dive.

Turn, look away, as the light draws near
Tides approaching, light comes closer
Tides approaching, sight unfocused
Turn, look away, as the light comes closer, eyes unfocused
